Requests strong rebound in durable goods in January

Requests for US durable goods experienced a sharp rise in January, increasing 4.9% monthly decline and significantly improving the 5.0% seen in December and increased 5.0% expected by the market today.

The indicator thus recorded their biggest gain in 18 months, particularly since July 2014, when it grew by 22.5%.

Requests for durable goods excluding transportation, meanwhile, rose 1.8% after two months of decline, in which is their biggest gain in 19 months, from June 2014, when it grew by 3.0%.

The result excluding transportation improvement market expectations, which forecast a slight increase of 0.2%, and significantly improves the December decline, which was 1.2%.

Weekly Jobless Claims week increase in February 19

At the same time they have been known data weekly US unemployment, reflecting that requests for subsidy unemployment rose by 10,000 in the week of February 19, reaching 272,000 from 262,000 earlier and exceeding the 270,000 estimated by the experts.

The continuing jobless claims for the week of February 12 declined, however, falling by 19,000 from 2,272,000 to 2,253,000 earlier today, a fact that improves 2,260,000 expected by experts.
